Mandala means creating a picture out from an original. the way i created the mandala was opening up photoshop with the outline Mrs. Moncure had already created for us to use, then i picked the picture i want ed to use and used the "Wand" tool to trace over the picture and copy and pasted iron the outline, from there i would duplicate the layer horizontal or vertical and place it next to the the other and then merged the layers so after i would duplicate the layer to put it on the bottom vertical wise. What i liked about this assignment was creating the picture using the colorful parts from my original picture. I struggled with the wand tool to try and copy and pasting it on the outline. If i could do it over again i would do the mandala differently using another part from the original picture.

What I thought "tessellation" meant to me was just putting different pictures together to make them look creative. What I did in order to make a tessellation was crop the picture i wanted to use into a 1 x 1 square, then i went to open up another tab on photoshop to make a square white layer to fit in the picture, from there i then would duplicate the layer and move in vertical or horizontal to each other. What I liked about this assignment was being able to create another picture with an original. What I struggled with during this assignment was cropping the picture because when i would move it it would be bigger than the tessellation. If I could do it all over again I would do the picture cropping differently.
